The extract below give details of a new guide published by the DFE for parents and carers . It is a very important one as everyone has a role to play in keeping every child safe  from abuse and harm. Please follow the link below for more information.

This guidance brings together sources of information about the main risks children may be vulnerable to during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and signposts you to help and support available.

The following information can help you to support your child, your family or a child who you are concerned about.  There are contact numbers for different advice lines within the sections leaflets available to download below.

Tackling Child Abuse (HM Government/DfE)
The government has launched a campaign called 'Together we can tackle child abuse'. The resources, aimed at everyone in the community, could be used with parents and include four very short videos explaining physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect and online abuse.

The simple mnemonic, ABC, is used to remind people that they should look out for changes in appearance, behaviour or communication. The webpage has a search engine to find out where to report abuse.

SAFE AT HOME
Attached is a poster from Hampshire Constabulary about domestic abuse support.

A quick summary of the poster is as follows:

Safe at Home initiative – to provide support to victims/families/friends from abuse in the home.
QR code – takes you to a linktree/launch pad with 5 options for direct access to support services.

Once the code is scanned it will remain searchable on a mobile phone – so this needs to be clear from a safety point of view.
