Mental Maths at Home

From the Summer Term in Year R through to Year 6, teachers will set weekly homework that supports key number bonds and times table facts.

Alongside in-class teaching, the school uses two main websites (also available as an app on main mobile operating systems) to form part of the homework programme.

The two websites are:
- Numbots (https://numbots.com/). This programme focusses on number bond facts. The programme is specially designed to move children from automatic recognition of values up to 5 to number bonds up to and including 20. Once children have successfully engaged with number bonds to 20, the programme then gives children the opportunity to build relationships with their known facts.

- Times Table Rockstars (https://ttrockstars.com/). Multiplication tables and related division facts.  As outlined in the Times Table Policy, children will be set tables relating to facts that they have previously or are currently being taught.

Children will be encouraged to complete three homework sessions of this each week and any further support or recommendations will be provided by teachers.
