We are seeking to appoint a Play Leader to lead and manage our brand-new Wraparound Care provision. We are looking for someone who is dedicated and hardworking, who is passionate about working with children and knows how to have fun as well as being organised and able to lead a small team. This purpose of this role will be to ensure the smooth running of the After School Club.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 2.45pm-6.00pm – during term time (38 weeks)
Salary: After School Club – (16.50 hours per week) - £11,440 (38 weeks)
The role will be term time for the afterschool club care, but there be the opportunity for the successful candidate to support with setting up and running holiday care provision.
The hours for the holiday provision would be as follows;
Monday – Friday, 8.00am-5.00pm – during school holidays for the Holiday care. – approx 8 weeks per year. Holiday Club Hours – (40 hours per week) - £5441 - (8 weeks per year).
The post holder will be responsible for:
Leading the day-to-day organisation of the After School Club & Holiday Care, providing a wide variety of fun filled activities.
Ensuring the wraparound programme is being delivered to a high standard, catering for all children of mixed ability,aged between 4 and 11 years of age.
Creating a safe, welcoming and friendly environment delivering high quality creative play opportunities embracing each child's individual needs, unique qualities and personalities.
Setting up and the organisation of equipment and resources for the children.
Liaising with parents /carers to encourage parental involvement and providing professional and relevant feedback to them about their child.
Personal attributes
The successful candidate will:
- Have a keen interest and passion in working with and facilitating fun activities for primary-aged children
- Have experience of working in wraparound care and / or a childcare setting
- Have experience in delivering activities to primary-aged children
- Be committed to ensuring every session is delivered to the best of your ability.
- Be approachable and a good communicator who builds effective relationships with families.
- Support the school’s Behaviour Policy and ensure that it is implemented effectively within the clubs.
- Be a trained Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Support the aims and the ethos of the school.
Salary & Benefits
