Year 6 - Update to Weekly Lesson Plans

If your child is seeking more of a challenge in all subjects whilst learning from home, please see the below list of websites:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/levels/z4kw2hv  - This has a selection of subjects across KS3 (Year 7-9) which will hopefully introduce new concepts to your child.  The maths curriculum introduces a wider variety of new concepts, whereas the English content is more similar to that which we have taught this year.  In addition, there are other subjects listed on the site that may spike your child's curiosity.

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/ - This has options for maths beyond Year 6.  Much of the content on this site is similar to the BBC Bitesize content, but WhiteRose is solely for maths coverage.

https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom/year-7#schedule  - This does have year 7 content to offer a challenge, though the collection of resources does not have the depth of Bitesize or WhiteRose so accessing the content may be more difficult to do independently.

https://www.stopsproblemsolving.co.uk/COVID19/COVID19/Grid.html - This has a variety of extended problem solving tasks.  I would say that 'Step 7' and 'Advanced solvers' will be tasks that challenge your child.  This might take a little more explaining than the other three, but it is worth a try.

The above content will provide new challenges for your child; however, the work that we send home weekly is at year 6 level so please access the weekly content first before striving for additional challenges.
